1 Introduction

Welcome to شات العرب (Arbs Chat). These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of our mobile application and services ("App"). By creating an account, using a guest account, or accessing the App in any way, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

If you do not agree with these Terms, you must not use the App.

This app is intended for users aged 18 and older.

2 Eligibility & Account Types

2.1 Eligibility

To use this App, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement
  • Use the App in compliance with applicable laws in your country

If we discover that a user is under 18, we may suspend or delete the account.

2.2 Registered Accounts

When you register, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information
  • Keep your login credentials confidential
  • Be responsible for all activity that occurs under your account

You must not share your account with others or use another person's account without permission.

2.3 Guest Accounts

We may allow guest accounts with limited features. Guest users must also follow these Terms and are subject to the same rules as registered users.

3 Chat, Rooms, and Content

The App allows you to:

  • Send and receive private messages
  • Participate in group/room chats
  • Share media such as images, videos, audio, and documents

You are solely responsible for the content you send, upload, or share in the App.

You agree not to use the App to:

  • Harass, threaten, or bully others
  • Promote hate, racism, or discrimination
  • Share sexually explicit, pornographic, or otherwise inappropriate content
  • Share content involving minors or any illegal activity
  • Spam, advertise, or promote products/services without permission
  • Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation

We reserve the right (but are not obligated) to review, remove, or restrict content that we consider to violate these Terms or applicable laws.

4 Call Permissions & Phone Calls

4.1 Private Chats Only

  • Call permission and phone call features are intended only for private one-on-one chats.
  • These features are not available for public rooms or group chats.

4.2 Call Permission Requests

Before calling another user:

  • You must send a call permission request to that user.
  • The other user can accept, reject, or revoke this permission at any time.
  • If permission is revoked or not granted, you must not attempt to bypass this restriction.

In some versions of the App, calling may be marked as "coming soon" and may not be fully available yet.

4.3 User Responsibilities During Calls

  • Do not record or share call content without the other person's consent (subject to your local laws).
  • Do not use calls to harass, threaten, or abuse other users.
  • Do not share illegal, harmful, or inappropriate content during calls.

We do not monitor or record calls. You are responsible for your behavior during calls and for complying with local laws.

5 Blocking, Reporting, and Safety

To help protect users, the App provides:

  • Block features to prevent another user from contacting you
  • Report features to report messages, users, or content that violate these Terms

If you block a user, that user may be unable to message you or interact with you, including through call permissions.

We may review reported content and take appropriate action, including warning, restricting, or banning users.

6 Advertising and Third-Party Services

The App may display advertisements (e.g., through Google AdMob) and uses other third-party services (such as Firebase and Google Sign-In).

These third-party services have their own terms and privacy policies, which you should review. Your use of the App constitutes your agreement that these services may process data as described in their policies.

We are not responsible for the content or practices of third-party services or ads.

7 Intellectual Property

The App, including its name, logo, design, code, and other elements, is owned by the developer and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes.

You must not:

  • Copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the App
  • Reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code, except where allowed by law
  • Use our name, logo, or branding without prior written permission

8 User Content License

By sending messages, media, or other content through the App, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to process, store, and transmit that content as necessary to operate the service (delivering messages, showing media, handling backups).

You retain ownership of your content. You are responsible for ensuring that you have the rights to share any content you upload or send.

9 Termination and Account Deletion

You may stop using the App at any time and, where available, delete your account from within the App.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access, with or without notice, if:

  • You violate these Terms or applicable laws
  • You abuse, harass, or harm other users
  • You misuse the call permission system or any feature of the App
  • We are required to do so by law or a legal authority

Upon termination, your right to use the App will immediately cease.

10 Disclaimers

The App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee that:

  • The App will always be available, error-free, or uninterrupted
  • Messages and calls will always be delivered or successful
  • The App will be free from security breaches or attacks

You understand that you use the App at your own risk.

11 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for:

  • Any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
  • Loss of data, messages, or content
  • Any harm, dispute, or damage arising from interactions between users (including chats and calls)

Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude liability where it cannot be excluded under applicable law.

12 Changes to the App and These Terms

We may update or change the App at any time, including adding, modifying, or removing features (such as calls or call permissions).

We may also update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Effective Date" at the top. Continued use of the App after changes means that you accept the updated Terms.

If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the App and, if applicable, delete your account.
